STOCKTON - A 27-year-old man was killed Sunday when someone pulled up in a car beside him at an intersection and fired several shots into his vehicle, police said.

The victim was stopped at March Lane and Kentfield Road at 12:35 a.m. Sunday when he was shot, drove forward before hitting a median and colliding with another vehicle in the intersection, police said.

Police declined Sunday to identify the victim. The investigation was continuing, said Officer Pete Smith, a department spokesman.

The victim was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he died about 1:30 p.m., Smith said.
